Item Description

A very attractive cabinet display specimen featuring GEM quality Celestine (Baryto-Celestine?) crystals of a slightly smoky color which are associated with powdery yellow Sulfur on matrix. The largest crystal measures 5.6 cm long. Based upon the comparable specimens I've seen, this piece has remarkably good sized crystals with from the standpoint of bright, lustrous GEM quality Celestines. I have not seen many Celestines from Machow with such glassy surface luster along with amazing clarity. Most of the smoky gem crystals I've seen from this locality are around 1-2 cm. The piece comes from the collection of David and Emily Stoudt of Houston, Texas. Valued at $1200.
