Celestine with Hematite inclusions (rare locality)

These Celestine specimens came out in the 1990s from this lesser-known locality in Turkmenistan, and are virtually unseen in today's market. Most collectors don't have any pieces from Turkmenistan in their collections, but a piece like this would make a great addition to any collection, regardless of locality. The piece features a central vug filled with glassy, tabular, gem quality crystals of Celestine with tapered edges measuring up to 1.2 cm, which are essentially colorless, but have a beautiful reddish-brown hue due to Hematite inclusions. Most of the crystals are undamaged in the center, but the periphery is contacted where the piece was broken to expose the crystals inside (it's essentially a geode that was cracked open). If you collect sulfate minerals or members of the Baryte group, don't miss out on this attractive and hard to find display piece from this obscure locality. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
