Striking, beautiful, pristine, sharp, two-toned celestine crystals are richly and attractively set on the sculptural spare limestone matrix covered with smaller celestine crystals. This is an aesthetic small cabinet specimen from the well-known Bull Creek locality near Austin. The pretty steel-blue terminations above the colorless bodies of the translucent crystals with satin luster faces really add character and beauty to the piece. The impressive large doubly terminated crystal is 2.7 cm long and is enhanced with two distinctly different terminations - one is chisel shaped and the other end is a typical spike. Texas is known as mostly a mineral wasteland, but this is an exceptionally fine example from the locale. Celestine and minerals from the mercury deposits at Terlingua are some of the few species that Texas has produced in excellent crystallized examples.
