Item Description
Kansas celestine specimens are EXTREMELY RARE. MINDAT lists six Kansas localities, but only one photo of a Russell County specimen is shown in their gallery. The dramatic jackstraw cluster features lustrous, translucent, salmon-colored blades to 4.0 cm. Comes with a wooden triangular display base. Old-time, RARE material from Kay Robertson Collection # 7630. The H.G. Clinton label dates to the 1920s or 30s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Possibly UNIQUE. A MUST for the Kansas or species collector.
