Celestine (rare old classic)

Pretty light baby-blue, sharp translucent celestine crystals with satin lustre faces are richly and aesthetically mounded on this rich and sculptural old-timer from Germany. A 3.4 cm pristine doubly terminated 360-degree crystal highlights the crest of the piece with a 3.0 cm doubly terminated vertical crystal immediately below. Iron oxide coatings are a nice contrast. From an East Coast Collection and comes with a century old, water-stained and fades label. The faint locality letters on the lower left appear to start with a B and E. Perhaps the very obscure old and extinct Benther Berg quarry near Hanover, Lower Saxony? We hope one of our German collectors can furnish us more precise locality information. This is a VERY RARE and interesting style of German celestine in any case.
