Item Description
Celestine specimens are RARE from the old borate mines of the Calico Mountains. Four classic, glassy, translucent, pristine, colorless prisms with textbook chisel terminations are aesthetically set on the sculptural sawed small cabinet matrix. The dramatic vertical monolith is 3.0 cm tall. The vuggy, undulating surface of the matrix is covered with bubbly clusters of light yellow pseudo-rhombohedral colemanite crystals. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. This is an exceptional and rare, undoubtedly old-time celestine and colemanite combination from the locale. Seldom on the market in this quality.
