Item Description
Here is a large, blocky prismatic crystal of Celestine from a little known locality in Texas! This gemmy to translucent crystal measures just over a three inches in length and an inch and a half across and displays a silky luster on all of its crystal faces. The faces and edges are sharp and two of the faces have a translucent white layer while the local, internal gemminess is revealed from the other crystal faces. A minor amount of orange-brown iron staining is present in some places. Good crystals like this from this locality aren't common and are only available from old collections like Al Kidwell's. He purchased it from well-known Texas field collector, Joe Lobell, in 1990.
