Item Description
A very rarely seen example of the beautifully crystallized Celestines from the Blue Bird Mine in central Utah. The piece features incredibly well-formed, very lustrous, gemmy, fine blue color thick tabular crystals of Celestine measuring up to 3.5 cm free of matrix. Very little damage, and very showy. I honestly don't think I've seen a piece of this material before this specimen, and for Celestine in general, this is FINE quality as the crystals are as lustrous and gemmy as any I can remember seeing from any US locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9430). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
