Item Description
Celestine and sulfur are famous from this old Sicily mine that was active from the beginning of the 1800s to 1987 (MINDAT). This is a beautiful and aesthetic cluster of isolated sharply terminated very glassy crystals nicely accented by scattered bits of sulfur. The large horizontal crystal is 3.8 cm and the larger crystals are pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2257 and was a gift from prominent New Jersey mineral dealer John Albanese, sometime in the late 1950s or early 60s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
