Item Description
A lovely four-piece thumbnail group of crystals of soft blue prismatic Celestine from the Huntington township in Hastings Co., Ontario. Each crystal is well-formed with sharp and lustrous faces. The thinnest crystal is actually very gemmy, and the other three are all at least translucent when backlit. Good quality, and VERY hard to find on the market. I don't know if we've had a single piece of Celestine from Hastings Co. to offer in the auctions, let alone a four piece set of crystals like this. The crystals measure 2.4 x 1.7 x 0.7 cm, 2.3 x 1.2 x 0.6 cm, 2.1 x 0.8 x 0.3 cm and 2.0 x 1.6 x 0.6 cm respectively. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#'s 7827, 7828, 7829 & 7830). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
