Item Description
Intense steel-blue color on these water-clear gem to translucent, sharp celestine crystals from classic finds at Sakoany in Madagascar. The sharp crystals are incredibly glassy and lustrous and reach 2.8 cm across. The noted periphery wear is acceptable, as these pieces are extracted from geodes. See the 2010 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 41, No. 5. Sakoany celestines are certainly among the finest in the world and this is a nice example at a fair price, probably. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock and valued by Les at $600. This rich and showy highly representative piece has several fine display views.
