While celestinefrom Madagascar is admittedly common, spectacularly gemmy and freestanding crystals with sharp terminations like this, are simply 1 in 1000. Literally, common quality is wholesale material for decor and things like this are carved out of huge geodes, with the remainder as throwaway to get such superb specimens as we have here. The central crystal is gem, transparent, and 3.6 cm tall above the matrix (although it surely goes deeper inside). It is complete all around, 360 degrees. The matrix itself is actually mostly complete, also sparkling, it is only broken on the left side as shown. It comes with a custom base, and is donated to the MINDAT auction by Karin and Wolfgang Wendel. For the size, it is a superb example. They do come larger, but many of us do not collect larger specimens, and this is such a "little jewel" that it really stands out. Valued north of $1000.
