Item Description
Mineral specimens from this obscure mine in the renowned Santa Eulalia District are RARE. The MINDAT photo gallery for the Santa Rita mine shows only four pieces, with three of them being cave formation calcites or aragonites, such as this striking calcite. Two intergrown stalactites of pearlescent colorless to light gray nailhead calcite rhombs are dramatically curved, giving a fantastic sculptural form. The rhombs are a bit darker on one side. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only two spots of gentle bruising noted. The attachments are near or at the base. Choice and rare older material from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection.
