Cavansite with Pentagonite (rare)

A hard to find combo specimen featuring both of these well-known calcium vanadium silicate minerals. The finest examples of both Cavansite and Pentagonite are found at Wagholi, and they are so fine that they are essentially connected with this locality as the only source of these minerals in the world. Don't let the amount of specimens on the market be a deterrent, because I would still make the case that both Cavansite and Pentagonite are still quite rare. The two minerals are dimorphous, meaning that they have the same chemistry, but different crystal habits, and they are easily distinguished from one another due to the fact that Cavansite often has a slightly darker blue color (with may a tiny greenish overtone) and will often formed in radial "sprays" or "balls", and Pentagonite is a slightly brighter blue color and can be found in more "needle"-like aggregates. This piece features a lovely 2.1 cm, dark blue color group of Cavansite growing right next to an almost "velvety" nest of thin prismatic crystals of Pentagonite measuring 3.3 cm at its longest dimension along with one additional Cavansite group on the side which are sitting on beige colored micro Heulandite crystals on basalt matrix. The piece is in very good condition overall, if you look with a loupe, you can see the almost acicular Pentagonite group is fully crystallized, it's not broken, with only a few tiny bruises. Minerals from India don't get the recognition they deserve for superior quality, which in a lot of cases results in the best crystallized examples of their respective species ever found.
