Item Description

Beautiful blue cavansite microcrystal sprays with sparkly heulandite crystals richly cover the basalt matrix on this attractive specimen from the Type Locality. The radial sprays of cavansite look like Morning Glorys. First described in 1967, the Owyhee Dam cavansites were the be-all and end-all until the great Indian discoveries of the late 1980's. Therefore, in addition to nice aesthetics, this piece has great historical and scientific importance. None have been collected in many years, to my knowledge. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection.
