We have all seen a thousand cavansites, but this material from a choice new find early in 2020 is really something special, with gorgeous rosettes of the most intensely saturated, fake-looking blue color. The three-dimensional, complete spherical clusters , to 1.3 cm, are perched on sparkling matrix of tiny little off-white stilbites with several larger snow-white, elegant stilbite blades sticking up. That is what makes this special. It is not just a contrast of color, but also of texture. Cavansite on "sparkling matrix" is something we see very rarely and when you hold it next to older specimens of otherwise similarly labelled cavansite on stilbite, there is just a material difference. These are so beautiful!
