Cavansite is one of those minerals that most people would not recognize were it not for the specimens from a single world locality. The species has one of the most distinctive colors in the world. It's certainly a favorite among collectors. Yes one can argue that there might be a fair number of them on the market now, but you won't see them forever, and rumors keep swirling as to whether Wagholi is completely flooded and unminable, or if the quarry is being filled in to make room for the ever growing housing market in Pune. This piece hosts a gorgeous 2.8 cm radial group of gorgeous intense blue Cavansite associated sitting atop beige micro crystals of Heulandite on basalt matrix. No real damage that I can see, but there is a tiny separation mark on the front of the Cavansite "balls" where it grew against the pocket wall. Great quality and very showy.
