Cavansite (LARGE individual crystals!)

Cavansite has one of the most distinctive and beautiful colors in the mineral world. It's one of those species that is truly connected with a single locality, although has been found in other places in the world. Cavansite is beloved by collectors and dealers not only for its color, but the piece from Wagholi are often display quality, and good sized to boot. There might be a fair number of them on the market now, but most are not nearly as fine as this piece, and you won't see them forever. Rumors keep swirling as to whether Wagholi is completely flooded and unminable, or if the quarry is being filled in to make room for the ever growing housing market in Pune, but eventually one day there will be no more Cavansite on the market. This piece excellent quality, glowing intense blue Cavansite crystals with a light sprinkling of gemmy pale golden Calcite rhombs sitting atop white Mordenite on basalt matrix. This piece hosts some of the largest individual blades of Cavansite that I've seen from the locality, measuring up to 1.5 cm long and they have formed a somewhat "rosette"-esque shaped group, not the typical "balls" that you're used to seeing from this locality. The front / display side of the piece is in excellent condition, with no real damage, but the top / back edge is rough where the piece was separated from the pocket wall. It is quite an impressive specimen as individual crystals of Cavansite are almost NEVER seen in this size, and this piece was mined in the late 1990s, when some of the best Cavansites were found.
