This is a beautiful, freestanding "bush" of cavansite with bright balls of vivid blue crystals shooting out in all directions. It is a classic example of generally older material from this famous location, the quarries of which are now mostly buried under Bombay development. It has the vivid blue color that is hard to describe in words, almost a neon or metallic hue - some can be dull, but this is not. We are honored to once again present a small selection of items deaccessed from the large and well-known collection of Jack Halpern, who at 102 has collected longer than most of us have been alive. He collected for beauty, first and foremost, without regards to any kind of size or species constraints as most of us do; and so the collection represents a treasure chest of modern discoveries from the 1960s through 2020.
