Cavansite and Stilbite ex Jack Halpern Collection

First discovered in Oregon decades ago, Cavansite didn't reach the level of world-class minerals for display collectors until its discovery in India years later. This miniature, from the famous Wagholi Quarries, is SUPERB. The color is a rich blue, and the lustrous, radial blades of Cavansite form attractive clusters up to 1.8 cm across. As if intentionally designed, the Cavansites are situated perfectly in a spray of pearly, beautiful blades of Stilbite. Up to 1.7 cm long, these Stilbites frame the Cavansites as well you could ask for. The balance and overall aesthetics on this choice miniature are exquisite. This is a special style from the late 1990s, with these large, sharp, really white stilbite blades in association. DO NOT THINK this is just another cavansite....it is really quite better than most in its size class. A cherrypick, with Jack's good eye, from among a large quantity when these were on the market - but rare now, and better than modern production to my eye. We valued this $1000-1250, which seems like a lot from a photo, but not when you compare it in person to the others around today.
