There are a few minerals in the modern age of mineral collecting that are solely associated with a single locality. Cavansite is one of those minerals, even though it's found in other places in the world. The species is beloved by collectors and dealers alike due to the fact that it has one of the most distinctive colors in the mineral world. There might be a fair number of them on the market now, but you won't see them forever. Rumors keep swirling as to whether Wagholi is completely flooded and can no longer be mined, or if the quarry is being filled in to make room for the ever growing housing market in Pune, but eventually one day there will be no more Cavansite specimens from this underrated locality. This piece hosts a gorgeous "sprays" of glowing intense blue Cavansite sitting atop gemmy, grey colored Heulandite with chalky-white Mordenite sitting on basalt matrix. The Cavansite aggregate measures 2.6 cm across. No real damage that I can see, and this is older material, dating back to the mid 1990s. You don't see this particular style anymore on the market.
