Item Description
Cassiterite specimens of ANY type are EXTREMELY RARE from the any of the 12 pegmatites listed by MINDAT for the well-known Keystone District. This is an exceptional specimen of large sharp, lustrous, metallic, tetragonal crystals to 3.0 cm aesthetically clustered atop crystallized cassiterite matrix. The bit of quartz at the base adds pizzazz. The bit of noted bruising at the top of the piece has negligible impact to the outstanding quality of this very fine and rich rarity. The back is contacted, but has no damage and piece displays beautifully without aid. Very choice and classic material from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Rich ore at 611 grams or 1.3 pounds mass. Valued at $2000. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
