Item Description

A nifty thumbnail pair of sharp, lustrous, twinned cassiterite crystals from the Iberian Peninsula. The larger piece is very rare and is from the obscure Sazes da Beira Mine, Seia, Guarda District, Portugal? It has flashy areas of orange translucence under bright light. The smaller piece is from the classic Spanish locale for cassiterite of the Penouta mines, Orense, Galicia and has very little translucence. A rare, older pair of cassiterite crystals from the Alfred Stevenson Collection.
