Cassiterite (twins) on Quartz

When it comes to worldwide Cassiterites, I think the specimens sometimes from Panasqueira get overlooked. The best pieces are certainly among the best examples of the species from anywhere in the world. This showy and excellent quality large thumbnail / toenail sized piece features a few attractive, sharp, very well-formed cyclic twins of Cassiterite measuring up to 8 mm across associated with a WATER CLEAR, colorless, prismatic hexagonal crystal of Quartz (along with a few additional Quart crystals) plus minor silvery-beige colored blades of Muscovite. The Cassiterites are not black, but actually showy attractive golden highlights in areas when backlit. The piece displays wonderfully, and the robust Cassiterite twins stand out beautifully against the Quartz crystal matrix. I can see a TINY nick on the termination of the Quartz, but overall the piece is in superb condition, and one rarely sees this combination in such an eye-catching display piece like this from Panasqueira these days.
