Cassiterite twinned xls on Muscovite (fine!)

Impressive and classic cassiterite on pearlescent muscovite plates from famous Mt Xuebaoding. A striking, artistically set near the top, 3.5 cm, sharply terminated twinned crystal dominates this very showy and rich small cabinet. The cassiterites have brilliant jet-black lustre, which illuminates the fantastic stepped-growth faces of the crystals. The twin cleft in the large cassiterite is remarkable and scattered areas of brown translucence add character. The cassiterites are in good shape. One side of the large crystal is contacted and a bit of periphery wear is noted at the base. These are certainly modest detractions. The piece displays beautifully, as the base and back have to sawed. Choice material from the Bob Holzer Collection. This is classic, excellent and aesthetic combination material from Mt. Xuebaoding. Valued at $1000-1250. You don't see many new ones anymore.
