Cassiterite (twinned)

Item Description

A sharp, attractive pair of twinned Cassiterite crystals from the famous Erzgebirge region. The crystal faces range from superbly lustrous, with ultra-fine striations, to etched. You don't often see such a nicely defined twin off of matrix, and the deep color seems to enhance the luster. From a historic district, this old-timer was #4853 in Kay's collection. She obtained it from the Sol Shalvetz private collection in 1966.
