Item Description

Cassiterite is one of those black rocks that gets a lot of attention due to the fact that it is found in a lot of world localities, and in some cases, the crystals are truly superb. What really draws the interest of collectors is the fact that Cassiterite is often found in twinned crystals, and some of the best examples of said material are the superb cyclic twins from the famous Viloco (sometimes called Araca) Mine in Bolivia. This locality has produced some of the most magnificent Cassiterite specimens extant. This particular specimen hosts many superb, sharp, highly lustrous, black color cyclic twinned crystals with minor associated Quartz. The luster and form of the Cassiterite is fantastic for the material. The largest crystal measures 2.2 cm across. These classic specimens from Viloco are simply not seen for sale in today's market very often, especially with such sharp and lustrous crystals like this. Very little damage on the display side, and the quality is really great in terms of luster, sharpness and form.
