This famous Bolivian tin mine produces some of the world's finest cassiterite specimens. It is also one of the few localities in the world and is the only Bolivian locality, that also occasionally produces gem cassiterite of facet quality. This is a very fine rough and cut pair from the Viloco Mine. A classic, splendent, sharp, mostly jet-black intergrown pair of twinned cassiterite crystals is well-matched with a beautiful gem, light brown, 3.2 carat, pear cut gemstone. Gemstones of this quality are not that common. The gemstone is valued at $320.
