Item Description
Splendent, sharp, elongated, cassiterite crystals called "sparable" (sparrow's bill) cover both sides of the large, undulating, vuggsy, two-sided plate from the famous Dolcoath Mine. Very rich tin ore, there is a narrow quartz vein running down the middle of the piece. Undoubtably old-time material from about 1850 to the early 1900s, but no proof. Specimens from this well-known mine are relatively rare. Rich ore at 843 grams.
