Item Description

The mine at Huanuni is one of the largest tin mines in Bolivia and is a real sight to see. This mine is better known for its phosphate species, but some of the more unique and attractive Cassiterite specimens are found there. This specimen hosts several of good quality, sharp, lustrous, black, prismatic crystals creating a beautiful "spray". This prismatic is rarely seen in Cassiterite and the best Bolivian specimens of this habit are found at Huanuni. This piece was mined in 1981, and it is one of the better pieces from Huanuni that we've offered in the auctions in a while. Don't miss out on this unique little display specimen.
