Item Description
Cassiterite specimens from this very obscure Mongolia tin deposit are rare and are seldom on the market. This sharp miniature is part of a textbook large sixling crystal. The pronounced crystal is lustrous, jet-black with distinctive stepped-growth faces. Adding even more character are the gorgeous areas of gemmy, reddish-orange fire. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12005, acquired from the Frazier's at the MSSC Show in 1989. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Rarely available material today.
