Item Description
Cassiterite is VERY RARE from the pegmatites at Stak Nala, famed for beautiful multi-hued tourmaline crystals. MINDAT features no examples in the Photo Gallery. This is a classic, very sharp, highly lustrous, doubly terminated, skewed tetragonal, doubly terminated jet black thumbnail crystal with a bit of embedded feldspar. Complete around and nearly pristine, with only trivial bit of bruising, which has minimal impact to the overall exceptional quality of this rare, essentially floater crystal. There are hints of red in the bruised surfaces. RARE and choice cassiterite from the locale from the David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named.
