Item Description
Wheal Pendarves is one of the newest tin mines in Cornwall, starting production in 1967 and closing in 1984. This extremely rich and very showy specimen features a dense jumble of splendent, sharp, cassiterite crystals lining sculptural vugs on both sides of the matrix. Quartz accent both sides. Some of the cassiterites are translucent. Fine and uncommon combination material from this locale. Ex A.K. Borland Collection, a prominent mid-20th Century English collector. Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by Herb at $450, five or more years ago. Hefty and very rich tin ore at 180 grams.
