Item Description
A significant example of cassiterite for Brazil, this matrix specimen shows off twinned, highly lustrous, black crystals of Cassiterite emplaced on sparkling, off-white Albite, all on this attractive small cabinet piece from the Linopolis area of Brazil. Small, mounded clusters of scintillating, translucent, bladed Albite crystals comprise the substrate on which the complex, shiny black Cassiterite crystals are perched atop for perfect contrast and composition. The Cassiterites are mostly twinned and occur in groups or singles measuring 1 to 2.5 cm in maximum dimension. The twinning is recognized by the wide V-shape of the crystals. This is a superb older piece showcasing lustrous Cassiterite from a pegmatite deposit. Valued $1000-1500.
