Item Description

A super-sharp, lustrous, dark metallic-gray, tetragonal, cassiterite crystal is nicely accented with smoky quartz crystals on this outstanding, old-time specimen from Horni Slavkov (Schlaggenwald) on the Czech side of the historic Erzgebirge. Cassiterites dont get any sharper or finer from this locale. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only one gently bruised corner. Ex Smithsonian Collection and comes with an early 1900s German label with a 1913 date. Classic and excellent combination material.
