A wonderful, rich, old-time cassiterite specimen from this historic locale. Splendent sharp jet-black twinned crystals, to 3.0 cm, dramatically and aesthetically cover the very hefty massive cassiterite matrix. Striking areas of reddish-orange translucence are noted under bright light. It looks like material from Bolivia or China, but it's not. A modest bit of bruising, contacting and periphery wear is noted, but is certainly acceptable in the context of this exceptionally rich and fine old-timer. Seldom on the market in this richness and quality. From an East Coast collection and comes with a label, that's at least 30 years old. 1113 grams or 2.4 pounds mass. Valued at $1500-1750.
