Item Description
This is a superb display quality specimen of the rare cassiterite specimens once treasured from Bolivia...long the world's most glamorous source of specimens for cassiterite before dethroned by Chinese production. And yet, Chinese material looks so different. These still have an honored place in collections. This specimen is unusual for the consistent quality, luster, and overall quality. These are twinned, sharply! It was in the private collection of dealer and collector Richard Kosnar, and sold by his son Brian to Rob Woodside some years ago. Crystals reach almost 2 cm and are super sharp. The specimen is just gorgeous. Valued $1500-2000.
