Item Description

Bolivia has probably produced more tin than any other country in the world. The great tin mines at Viloco (sometimes called Araca) have produced some of the most magnificent Cassiterite specimens extant. This particular specimen is a large, fine, sharp, highly lustrous, golden/black cyclic twinned crystal group. This is a very attractive piece, and based upon the size, it is one of the better ones for quality and luster size that I've seen in recent years. The piece is in great shape, and save a few minor "rubs" on the surface, it essentially damage free on the display side. It is still a very attractive association specimen from this historic locality, and were it perfect, would be valued at around $1000 retail.
