Item Description

Found in August of 2012. Bolivia has probably produced more tin than any other country in the world. The great tin mines at Viloco (sometimes called Araca) have produced some of the most magnificent Cassiterite specimens extant. This particular specimen consists of a fine, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, (brown to honey color when backlit) cyclic twinned crystals of Cassiterite. This is a very attractive piece and one of the better ones for gemminess that came out of this recent find. The piece is in great shape overall, and would make a nice addition to any Bolivian suite or toenail / large thumbnail collection.
