Cassiterite (fine twins) on Muscovite

Here we have a showy, aesthetic specimen of the famous Pingwu Beryl Mine featuring several superb, sharp, rather lustrous, jet black colored twinned crystals of Cassiterite measruing up to 2.2 cm associated with bladed silvery Muscovite. I love the form and almost "slippery" luster of the Cassiterites. The main twinned group is virtually pristine, though I can see one tiny imperfection with a loupe. This locality is probably best known for its superb Aquamarine and Scheelite crystals, but some of the world's finest Cassiterites have been found at Pingwu. Just excellent quality, form and displayability in what might be considered common material on the market, but still oustanding quality for what it is. Valued at $950 in the inventory.
