Item Description

A classic specimen of Cassiterite from the world famous tin deposits of Cornwall. Typically, this species is mined strictly as tin ore, and fine quality crystallized specimens are few and far between. Cornish Cassiterites are among the most beautiful and well-known examples in the world. This lovely large thumbnail / toenail specimen features highly lustrous, sharp, incredibly well-formed, somewhat translucent, cyclic twinned crystals of Cassiterite from Wheal Kitty. It is accompanied by labels from Herb Obodda and collector A. K. Borland. Very good quality for the locality, and valued at $600.
