Item Description
Cornwall is famous for its tin mines, along with producing some of the most classic and iconic Cassiterite specimens from any European locality. One of the most well known habits of Cassiterite from Cornwall are the rarely seen tetragonal prisms. This piece is a textbook example of said material with excellent, well-formed faces along with classic jet-black color and a gorgeous "pencil" termination. A superb little example of this famous material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12778). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
