Mineral specimens from this old (1871) and extinct tin mine are rare and are seldom available in this size richness and quality. Splendent sharp cassiterite twins, to 1.7 cm, richly and attractively cover two sides of the hefty tin ore matrix, that includes muscovite and quartz. Some crystals have zones of orange-brown translucent under bright light. Scattered brusing to some crystals are noted, but certainly have minimal impact to the overall high quality and richness of this piece. 489 grams mass or over a pound. Ex Charles Noll Collection.
