Item Description

Bolivia has probably produced more tin than any other country in the world. The great tin mines at Viloco (sometimes called Araca) have produced some of the most magnificent Cassiterite specimens extant. This particular specimen hosts small fine, sharp, lustrous, deep honey-brown to black color cyclic twinned crystals. The luster and color are good for the material. The largest crystal measures 3 mm. These classic specimens from Viloco are simply not seen for sale in today's market very often, especially with gemmy crystals like this. Even though the crystals look black in the photos, some of them pass light in person. Classic material and a nice little specimen with virtually no damage.
