Cassiterite as a species is typically not what comes to mind when one thinks of pegmatites. The Linopolis area in Brazil has produced some outstanding pegmatite Cassiterites over the years, and this piece is a good representation of the materia. It features several large, sharp, very distinct, lustrous, jet-black, dramatic, interpenetrant cyclic twins with minor tan Muscovite. The top most portion of the piece is contacted where it grew against the pocket wall, but the front faces of the crystals are in good shape. Valued in the inventory at $850.
