Item Description
This is just a really cool Cassiterite shape and crystal from anywhere - what can we say! It's a rather large, at 4.2 cm at the diagonal and is a slightly rounded, tetragonal di-pyramid that is a super lustrous black-brown. This Cassiterite is dense at 129.93 grams...for its size! This slightly rounded habit is not unheard of in Cassiterite as there are occurrences in Pakistan and Afghanistan, however, it is rare from Brazil and this is a relatively obscure locality. The crystal is in very good condition with some minor edge wear, a slightly nicked point that's barely noticable and areas on the bottom where there is some Goethite on the bottom that highlights where the Cassiterite may have been attached to Albite blades.
