Item Description

This is an attractive miniature sized specimen of this fairly hard to find material from The Gulf, in the northeastern part of New South Wales. This piece hosts several fine quality, sharp, lustrous, cyclic twinned crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm across, associated with colorless Quartz. The Cassiterites look black on the surface, but strong backlighting shows a few tiny spots of rich brownish-red color internally. Most of the crystals are in good condition, but there are some contacts, so the piece is not completely pristine. Still a rather uncommon locality piece for any fan of crystallized Cassiterite.
