Our Chinese sources have furnished us with, on occasion, some carved odds and ends. Here is another striking example of the artistry and mineral bounty of their country. This is intricately carved and polished quartz in the form of a four dolphins playing with a ball. The detail on the front and back of the two large and two small dolphins and the waves are excellent. Art in stone.
