Our Chinese sources have furnished us with another striking example of the mineral bounty of their country. This find of carved and polished jasper picture stone is from a less well-known area. This striking, two-sided, LARGE CABINET, piece has two outdoor, country scenes - grassy, lightly wooded open lands, one with a dark brooding stream running through it, below gray skies. They look like paintings from Chinese murals or room dividers. They also look like paintings by the famed Impressionist artists of the 19th century or perhaps seens from MIddle Earth. Art in stone. The measurements include the custom-made wooden base. One of the few polished pieces we sell, because they are just so beautiful at a nice pricepoint. 7.5 pounds or 3.4 kilos mass.
