Carrollite (superb large crystal)

The rare copper, cobalt and nickel sulfide Carrollite is one of those species that has been known for many years, but it was only in the last 20 years that the finest examples of the species have been found. For a long time it was incredibly difficult to find a crystal over a few mm, but when the big crystals started coming out of the Congo in the late 1990s, it changed the game. The best of these pieces represent the finest examples of the species ever seen. This fantastic miniature specimen is an excellent, quality, sharp, lustrous, brilliant / splendent, bright silvery colored cuboctahedral crystal with no matrix. The faces are notably well-formed and smooth. It's complete all around, save the bottom where it was removed from the pocket wall. Priced in the inventory at $1,750.
